We have been pining for some of the white stuff to fall from the sky for so long now. Other parts of the UK have gotten some snow in recent weeks, but not down our way (although it had been forecasted to at the time!). With the days getting every so slightly longer and little buds of snowdrops and crocuses starting to poke up from the ground, we had just about given up on snow. But no! We got enough to fall to allow a build up of a couple of inches in some places, and then continued cold temps so that the snow didn't melt right away. Nice!
I went for a Sunday morning run with Naresh and the landscape in the Ashdown Forest was stark and beautiful... reminded me of my field days out in the Nevada but instead of sagebrush we have gorse and heather.
Then later in the day - actually, it was just after I had returned home from the run - Leigh called to say that she and her girls were on their way towards us and did Rhiannon and I want to find a snowy place to sledge? How could we resist that!
