April Pink Moon

Tonight was the Pink Full Moon, and we hatched a plan to do a twilight swim and bonfire at the beach. Rhiannon came with me and we met Leigh and Aggie and a few of the Lark friends.  We had a gorgeous evening drive down the west side of the Ouse valley through Lewes and the little villages between there and Newhaven. We met Leigh and Aggie there and walked to the sea together to meet up with other friends. We swam together (not Aggie and Rhi) and then joined the others by the bonfire to get warm and wait for the moonrise.

Even though it was a school night and we didn't get home until nearly 10 pm, it was so awesome to be out having a bit of an adventure on a Tuesday night. The moon didn't actually make an appearance above Beachy Head until just after 9 pm, and even then the clouds obscured the view for the most part. But the drive home across the Sussex plains was stunning.
