Woohoo! Finally we are going on holiday and we are off to spend a week in Slovenia! Today we had some frantic last minute packing and then left the house with ample time to get to the airport, park the car, check our bag, and then have some food before our flight at 1 pm.
We landed, got our hire car, and drove 15 minutes to the airbnb place that we can co-rented with the Cieply family. The place itself turned out to be a bit of a lemon: no kitchen, super hot rooms with no a/c, a weird layout of space and facilities, but the important thing was that there was a soccer field (football pitch) on the property! We had big plans to do rematches of "family football".
Aside from having really delicious food at this place served by a lone waiter who was working really hard under high temperatures to serve all the different parties that were dining here, Rhodri and I discovered the beverage Radler, which is a mix of beer and grapefruit juice (and a very low % alcohol), and it would be the first of many Radlers that we enjoyed on this trip.
After dinner we adults sat around talking while the kids played cards and then went upstairs to read their respective books. It was so nice to be with Annabel, Chris, Skylyr and Kyrstyn!

First we took a walk to put our feet in the river because it was just SO hot! Then we had dinner at the restaurant that was part of the place. We ended up with so much food that we were able to take home the leftovers and enjoy them the next night.
