Slieve Binnian

Today we hiked up and down Slieve Binnian, but in a lovely circular type of walk (not just up and back down the same way).  It was a bit overcast when we started the day, but it brightened up over the course of the day.  This was a lovely, straightforward, very pleasant hike.

Actually it did start closing in on us once we got to the top, and it was very sloppy and muddy in sections going down. But then it turned all fine again!  On our walk down the track, we met a farmer who was on his way somewhere with a teenage boy in the passenger seat who had a bloody mouth and hand. The farmer asked where we were from, and Rhodri said Wales and the farmer turned off the car engine to start chatting about darts!! Apparently there is some young Welsh man who is a good darts player, and this farmer wanted to talk about darts! It was so funny, honestly. And the poor young fellow in the passenger seat who was bleeding, waiting patiently for the farmer (maybe his dad?) to stop chit chatting!  Anyway, we were all rescued by another farmer who was walking past and started talking to the Darts farmer so we made our exit to continue the walk to the campsite carpark.  We got back to Syd, changed clothes, chatted more with James and then headed over the border into Republic of Ireland to stay at a beach campsite near Dublin.
