Furlough

Furlough is a new word for me, for a lot of people! Turns out it means different things to different people and different situations. For me it means "unpaid leave", and I am taking this now every Friday starting today. It is such a weird but cool feeling to take the day off, like playing hookey in the old days, skipping school (although I never did this..).  Today was actually overcast and more chilly than it has been, but all the azaleas are in bloom and that in itself is so thrilling!

The deck is finished now, and we can now allocate our energies into other things.


One thing we have been meaning to do for awhile is get rid of some dead plants and branches. So we had a big bonfire and it was pretty great actually.

In other news, we have continued to have our Singalong Club sessions on Friday nights. We are all taking turns hosting the evening and actually it is nice to be a passenger rather than the organizer for once!
