Tryfan turns 1 year old (part 2)

...the party continues...
So after everyone took naps in the early afternoon, we had our 'real' birthday party for Tryfan. We invited just about all of our friends here in Asker/ Oslo, and everyone came! Here is some footage of us singing Happy Birthday.

It was a bit crowded in the house with 20 kids running around and 18 adults mostly ignoring the running kids, but we spilled out into the backyard too. Fortunately it was a gorgeous day. In fact, it was so gorgeous that we probably should have had the whole party outside but somehow it was too much effort to mobilize for that. Anyway, it was a very full and thoroughly celebrated birthday, and I think Tryfan was glad to see the end of it! He was pretty overwhelmed with so many people in our space and as the afternoon wore on, he kept breaking into tears and burrowing his head into my shoulder. But it had to be done, because it's the only time he will turn 1 years old! Oh yeah, and I baked some "Pumpkin Apple Harvest" cupcakes which turned out really yummy. I chose this recipe because it had minimal sugar, lots of moist pumpkin and tangy apple -- perfect for kids to eat and not get too crazy on sugar.
