Spreading ashes - part 2

This morning we all got together to spread the remainder of Dad's ashes that Mom had brought up to Stehekin with her. She and Grandma Bucky drove to the Buckner Orchard and then walked up to the Knoll while the rest of us walked from the cabin up the road and then down Buckner Lane in reflective silence. It was a warm sunny day and we all sat on the top of the knoll while Mom read some things out loud for us to hear (1 Corinthians 13 from the NIV of the Bible). We didn't do too much in the way of talking or sharing -- instead we were all pretty solemn and quiet, individually reflecting and remembering Dad/ Grandpa Carl and having our own private conversations with him. It was a very special occasion.
Rhiannon and Tryfan after they spread their bit of Grandpa's ashes at the base of the Knoll which is behind them.
After having our own private moments up there, we made our way back down to the truck and then we all went separate ways in the afternoon before going up to Stehekin Valley Ranch for a family dinner.
