We met some new neighbors a year ago who moved in 4 doors down from us and who have a daughter (Ava) the same age as Rhiannon. But Ava goes to a different school because her Mum teaches there, so our paths haven't crossed much until recently. We invited them round one Friday night and it was really fun, so then they invited us round to their house last night to celebrate the end of the first week of school.

They have such a lovely pool with views to the South Downs and it is so beautfiul
The kids all went swimming (in their wetsuits) and their dog Maggie ran around barking in a concerned manner while we adults started the evening off with some sparkling wine.
|
Then after a bit we went down to the bottom of their garden where they had set up the dining apparatus.

The kids table - very excited to be having sausages!

Shaun, Paula and their lovely dinner set up
We stayed until quite late (10:30ish) and had a great bonfire with roasted marshmallows and everything. Paula had heard about s'mores and so wanted to treat us to some. She had melted some chocolate in a bowl so that we could dip the marshmallows into the chocolate, but in the darkness I didn't realize it was already melted so I reached in with my hand to pick up a little square and got chocolatey fingers! It was a funny moment. Anyway, we all had a great night with them and we are so glad to have finally connected with these new friends just a few doors down!
