CASA pride

My Mom has been working towards her Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) qualification, and today she was sworn in as a California CASA volunteer!  Eric and the kids and I sat in the audience to watch Grandma Debi get sworn in inside the Mural Room of the Santa Barbara Courthouse. It is a very cool room and it was special to be here for this occasion. I'm so proud of my Mom :-)

After the ceremony, we walked a few blocks to El Paseo restaurant where the officials had put on a spread for all of the newly-sworn CASA Volunteers and their supporters. Kristin met us there and we enjoyed some margaritas and Mexican food.
Our end of the table - close to the shortcut route to the food table!
After this event, we went for dinner at Los Agaves Mexican restaurant and had more delicious Mexican food!
