It was our friend Eli's birthday today. He is just the coolest 13 year old I know. He is so kind and sweet to everyone of all ages and he has such a warm and welcoming spirit. What struck Tryfan and Rhiannon the most about him is that he makes his own toys - he builds wooden boats.

The kids all played games and did relay races. R & T were the youngest by quite a lot except for one other little girl. It was a gorgeous afternoon and it was lovely to sit with Tammy and Lori on the grass and watch the kids play in this beautiful spot. When it was all over, Bob took the kids in the Little Dipper boat across the lake to where the river comes in.

We didn't have an opportunity to buy Eli a present so instead we found a piece of driftwood that looked like a dinosaur head and so we spent several days coloring it to really look like one! The kids were excited to give it to him and he seemed to really like it. So, all in all it was a great birthday.
