After lunch, we got back into the car and raced off to
Fairyland, which is the original children's wonderland that inspired Walt Disney to create the Magic Kingdom. This place opened in 1950 and has a very pure and innocent feel to it - doesn't even try to cater to adults or teenagers except by providing an espresso stand.

The cubs love Uncle John and Aunt Heidi!

| This juggler called Dana was having a really off day and he kept dropping stuff. T & R are in the hats in the front row. |
We also saw a puppet show, ran around the maze of cards and visited all of the attractions there were to see here. In fact the area that the kids seemed to enjoy most was a ghost town replica of a train station. There were a bunch of other kids here and they all chased each other up the stairs and down the slides and just were wild together running throughout the empty wooden buildings.

We were here for several hours - until the park closed at 5pm actually!
Then we went back to Heidi and John's house for BBQ burgers. Yum.

After dinner when the kids were already in their jammies, we went out for gelato at one of Heidi & John's favorite places!

It was really special to spend time with them and get a little glimpse into their life in Oakland.
