Portmeirion

 Today was an interesting day. We've continued to have hot weather (~25-28 deg C), although we hear it is much hotter back at home. Glad we aren't there for that actually! Anyway, today we decided to go visit Portmerion since none of us had ever been there and it seemed like a good thing to do. It did feel a little bit like Disneyland in that everything was trying so hard to seem Italian although we were on the North Wales coast.

Anyway, we explored around a bit and then made our way to the beach. It was a huuuuge long sandy beach and it turns out that the actual ocean was about 3 miles further out from where we were deep in the estuary. Bizarre. But it was a warm sunny day and we enjoyed being at the beach. In fact, we heard that Lloyds bank filmed one of their horse adverts here yesterday, but that rumour hasn't been substantiated. Yet.

In the evening, Rhodri and I went out for dinner with Bleddyn and Geri to a place near their new house. Its always fun to be with those two!
