Roman road and ancient findings

Today after a bit of morning telly watching, coffee drinking and newspaper reading, we headed out for a walk straight from the house. It was such a hot, sweaty day but we quickly got up high onto the ancient Roman road and were treated to some pre-historic stone burial chambers and stuff.

We actually had a little walk description that explained the route and told us what to look for. On the last part of the walk, we encountered a 12th century chapel that is still in use today! There were a crew of people working on site and Rhodri started speaking in Welsh with them, so they changed their tone and were very friendly. They even unlocked the door and let us go in and look around.

When we got back to Rowen, Rhods and I stopped by the Ty Gwyn pub which is just a couple of doors down from our house and the kids tuned straight back into the telly. Sigh. Then we rustled something up for dinner and called it a day.
